Embossed Velvet Pillow

Supplies:

• Velvet
• Pillow form
• Rubber Stamp
• Teflon™ pressing sheet
• 4 Tassels (optional)
• Pins
• Scissors or rotary cutter, ruler and mat
• Hand sewing needle
• Thread
• Sewing machine

1. Add seam allowance to pillow form measurements and cut out front and back of pillow from velvet fabric.
   
   Example: Pillow form measures 40cm x 40cm (16” x 16”). Add 1.5 cm (1/2") seam allowance to all 4 sides. Total measurement for velvet is 43cm x 43cm (17” x 17”).
2. Emboss pillow front. (click here for embossing velvet instructions)
   
3. Pin pillow front to pillow back with right sides together. Place optional tassels into each corner of pillow.
   
4. Sew around three sides leaving one side open. Hint: You may need to attach a walking foot to your sewing machine to prevent the velvet from shifting while sewing.
5. Turn fabric inside out. Insert pillow form. Pin opening closed. Hand sew opening closed.
